DERM Review Programs moving to the MDPIC
In order to improve efficiency, DERM is moving the following review programs to the Miami-Dade Permitting and Inspections Center (West Dade Office) located at 11805 SW 26th Street as of September 15th, 2008: The Water Extension Program, The Sewer Extension Program, The Water Treatment Program, The Wastewater Treatment Program, and The Notice of Required Connection Program. Meeting regarding fee schedule revisions
The Building Department has proposed a revised permit fee schedule for adoption by the Board of County Commissioners during the budget consideration process with an effective date of October 1, 2008. Public Hearings (PDF) on the proposed budget are scheduled for September 4, 2008 and September 18, 2008.

Water Efficiency Standards Have Been Updated
The flow rate for lavatory faucets has been changed to 1.5 gpm to match the recent EPA's WaterSense certification. This will be effectived January 1, 2009. View the amended Ordinance. (PDF)

New Operating Hours at MDCPIC
The Miami-Dade County Herbert S. Saffir Permitting and Inspection Center (MDCPIC) has new operating hours effective June 2, 2008. See the flyer for more details. (PDF)

New Requirements for Water Use Effciency in New Construction
At their meeting of February 5, 2008, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance 08-14 which established new requirements for water use efficiency fixtures in new construction and also re-metering in certain occupancies. These code changes will be effective July 1, 2008. strong>See more details (PDF).
